About Pioneer Water Tanks

Pioneer Water Tanks was established in Western Australia in 1988. Over the ensuing years, Pioneer produced and marketed a continually improving water tank. In 1994, the company changed ownership. With renewed energy and focused research, development of a new range of tanks was introduced in 1996.
The improvements were subtle yet effective. A new look wall profile – the 8-80 V-lock, gave the tank a sleek aesthetic appearance and significantly improved structural integrity.
The revised tank design was well received in the Australian market, providing a strong and durable product able to withstand the tough conditions experienced in Australia. These attributes were soon identified by international customers. As a result, overseas demand increased rapidly, further establishing the company as a prominent water tank supplier.
On the back of fuelling growth, Pioneer Water Tanks set up an office in the United States of America in 2004.

In May 2005, Pioneer Water Tanks became part of BlueScope Steel, one of Australia's largest manufacturing companies. In April 2008 BH Tank in North America also became part of BlueScope Steel, further expanding our product range and our geographic coverage. The BH Tank business provides a range of products for the storage of water, with traditional steel corrugated profile tanks and welded storage tanks in addition to a range of Bolted AWWA (American Water Works Association) bolted steel tanks. This diverse range of tanks provides storage capacity of between 10,000 litres, and 2,000,000 litres capacity.
