Tank Liners and Refurbishment
Pioneer Water Tanks offers tank liner solutions for the repair or refurbishment of existing water storage tanks.
The Aqualiner® and the Industratex® tank liners are a combination of woven, multi-layered waterproof membranes, suitable for water storage in a wide range of applications.
For more than a decade, our exclusive Pioneer tank liners have been successfully used in a wide range of applications throughout the world. The Aqualiner® and Industratex® tank liners have been recognised internationally. Both liners are certified to the American Standard NSF/ANSI-61, and the Australian Standard for contact with potable water* (see footnote below).
Our Aqualiner® and Industratex® liners are a cost effective solution for the refurbishment of existing steel and concrete storage tanks. A new liner can be installed to line the existing shell, and can be custom-made to suit the dimensions and capacity of a wide range of existing tanks.Pioneer Water Tanks can provide tank modifications if requested.
The Aqualiner® is generally recommended for residential and agricultural applications, and the Industratex® is the preferred liner for municipal and commercial water storage applications.
Both Industratex® and Aqualiner® are UV stabilized and resistant to mild acids, alkalis and other chemicals, this further enhances their durability and versatility. In their recommended size ranges they are both capable of supporting water pressures that are not attainable with ordinary unsupported liner materials.
Aqualiner®
- Aqualiner® is a food grade liner certified to American NSF/ANSI 61, Australian and British Standards for the storage of drinking water.
- This liner is comprised of five layers of permanently bonded polymers, sandwiching a high strength webbing to achieve strength and flexibility.
- The Aqualiner® is designed specifically to include potable water applications.
- The Aqualiner® has gained industry wide acceptance. It is recognised as one of the strongest and most versatile liners available.
Industratex® Liner
- Industratex® is a food grade PVC-based liner manufactured to meet Australian Standards AS/NZS 4020:1999 "Products for use in contact with drinking water" and is approved by NSF/ANSI 61 for the storage of potable water.
- The Industratex® liner comprises of three layers permanently bonded together, with one of these layers being a high strength webbing to achieve maximum strength and flexibility. Industratex® liners are more robust and because of the extra strength and special handling qualities it is used extensively in our larger storage tanks.
*Where tank water is to be used for potable applications, Pioneer Water Tanks strongly recommends that consumers take advice from, and comply with, the requirements of their state building and/or health authorities.
In ALL situations where rainwater is to be used for drinking purposes - good catchment (roofing materials, flashings, guttering and tank maintenance) is extremely important. The use of a properly maintained first-flush diverter will also ensure the quality of the water going into a water tank. Additionally, a properly installed and maintained water filter will further ensure water quality from the tank.
If a roof is to be used as a water catchment for drinking, we recommend that roofing/re-roofing works be carried out in accordance with the relevant state or local government standards.
