12 Jul 10 Phillip Island Nature Park Uses Pioneer Water Tanks!

Koala

Pioneer Water Tanks has recently installed a ZINCALUME®Steel  GT110 at the new Koala Conservation Centre, managed by Phillip Island Nature Parks.

The building, designed by Ashley Beaumont, embraces sustainability principles far exceeding the Energy Efficiency Provisions of the Building Code of Australia.

The design, layout and orientation of the building maximises natural light and ventilation and minimises exposure to heat.

Rain water tanks are also an essential part of the design.

Matthew Jackson, Operations Manager of Phillip Island Nature Parks said, “The original designs by the architect utilised several tanks. However, we preferred to install one larger Pioneer tank, instead of several smaller ones to maximise rainfall collection efforts.”

Jackson explained, “We like to use local suppliers to support our community. We are very happy with the tank and the service provided by our local supplier (D & D Moulton Tanks)”.

Phillip Island Nature Parks already has several Pioneer Tanks installed at the world famous Penguin Parade as well as other attractions around the island, for example the Nobbies Centre.

Jackson commented, “Water tanks are important to the Nature Park. They help us conserve water, meet sustainability targets and minimise our environmental footprint.” Inside
