Pioneer Water Tanks has joined forces with BlueScope Water, a division of BlueScope Steel, the global leader in metallic coated and painted steel products.

Pioneer Water Tanks will operate as a division of BlueScope Water from its Western Australia base. The current management team will continue to lead the business under the direction of Mark D’Mello, who has been named President Pioneer Water Tanks for BlueScope Water. Gavin Connaughton, formerly a Director of Pioneer Water Tanks is the Vice President, and former Chairman Stephen Nasso will continue to be involved on a consulting basis.

Pioneer Water Tanks has 80 employees with a manufacturing and sales base in Bellevue, WA and distribution hubs in Sydney, NSW and Houston, Texas. The Company distributes its product through some 37 national and 23 international distributors who supply and install the Galaxy® range of rural tanks. The Company also supplies and installs the larger commercial and industrial tanks directly.

BlueScope Water was established to develop new products and services to meet the growing demand for reliable, steel-based solutions for water management infrastructure and rainwater harvesting.

BlueScope Water has a network of manufacturing and retail businesses in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, providing rainwater harvesting products and installation services to urban markets. It also manufactures HYDRORIB®, a range of innovative polymer coated steel pipe products, for drainage markets in culvert and stormwater applications. A recently concluded agreement with the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Authority will see the development and trial of a low-pressure pipeline system that is aimed to replace open irrigation channels.
