Pioneer Water Tanks has developed a roof structure that is not only easy to install, but is also strong and adaptable to suit many applications. All of Pioneer tanks' roof structures utilise the strength of Square Hollow Sections (SHS) that are fully welded to build a strong, robust structure. Additionally, our dome roof structures are carefully engineered to maximise cost efficiencies. Our range of roof designs is outlined below:

Industry Standard

This is our basic roof structure and is suitable for most applications where standard access hatches only are required, and where the tank is not located in an exposed area subject to gales. It is a robust, innovative design that incorporates a truss foot connection, resulting in correct load transfer from the roof, to the tank wall and then to the ground.

Heavy Duty/Mars

The MARS roof (Multi Application Roof Structure) embodies all the features of the Industry Standard Roof, and in addition is capable of withstanding both heavier loads arising from larger platforms and greater loads arising from regional wind speeds up to 50 metres per second in accordance with the Australian Wind Code (AS 1170.2). Further, the structure of the roof has been designed to enable mounting of ancillary features such as a remote control vent hatch.

Cyclonic

The Cyclonic Roof is capable of withstanding the full force of a tropical cyclone as defined in the Australian Wind Code (AS 1170.2). It also embodies the features of the Industry Standard Roof and has trusses of greater depth at closer centres to withstand intense regional wind speeds of up to 80 metres per second (AS 1170.2).

Alternatively, Pioneer Water Tanks has developed a system for tanks without the need for a roof. Instead, a ring truss system is used to provide strength to the top edge of the tank body. This simple but effective solution is ideal for tanks in the effluent treatment industry.
